# Studio Collections

The `studio` Default Collection File is used to dynamically create collections based on the studios available in your 
library.

This file also merges similarly named studios (such as "20th Century Fox" and "20th Century Animation") into one ("20th 
Century Studios")

## Config

The below YAML in your config.yml will create the collections:

libraries:
  Movies:
    collection_files:
      - default: studio
  TV Shows:
    collection_files:
      - default: studio
```

## Template Variables

Template Variables can be used to manipulate the file in various ways to slightly change how it works without having to 
make your own local copy.

Note that the `template_variables:` section only needs to be used if you do want to actually change how the defaults 
work. Any value not specified will use its default value if it has one if not it's just ignored.

        1. Each default collection has a `key` [see here]() that you must replace 
        `<<key>>` with when using this template variable.  These keys are found in the table at the top of this page.

    The below is an example config.yml extract with some Template Variables added in to change how the file works.

    1.  add "Big Bull Productions" to the list of items that should be included in the Collection list
    2.  Show these collections and their items within the "Library" tab
    3.  Use the gray [Separator Style](../separators.md#separator-styles)

## Default Values

Unless you customize them as described above, these collections use default lists and searches to create the collections.
